Dora is 8

My youngest daughter, Dora, turned 8 on Tues. She had really been looking forward to the event for well over a month. Every day asking “How many more days, now”. She saw a stuffed Pegasus in a Grass Valley toy store a few weeks ago and that was all she talked about. We went over to Granny’s house, the usual get together on all the girls (there’s 5) birthday’s. Cake, candles, ice cream, sing “Happy Birthday”, open gifts … not necessarily in that order. Dora screamed in delight when she saw the Pegasus. Wow, they’re growing up fast. Here’s a few pics.

Patti left for Argentina for almost 4 weeks the next day, Wed, so I’ll have my hands full for a while with all the girls.
I met Terrilyn Chance, The Unions special sections manager, at one of the historical libraries in Grass Valley on Wed to shoot a few of the old maps for a project that she is working on. I had talked to her a few times but had not met her. Now I have a face to go with the voice, and she’s very nice. She may arrange the map photos for a front page layout on the upcoming “The Best of Nevada County”. Looking forward to seeing how that comes out.
