Katie and Geoff had a nice little drive up from Santa Rosa for their engagement session here in Grass Valley, in the heart of the gold country, at the historic Empire Mine State Park. To take advantage of the best light we arrived the same time the park closed and began the session in some nice spots outside the main gate and then finished up a few minutes away at the Northstar Mine Powerhouse for a bit more variety. We had the place pretty much to ourselves and had a fun time, and we kept a few species of ants entertained as well. Katie and Geoff are going to have a bit more of a drive for their wedding in October as we’ll be further up the hill, …in the beautiful Sierra Nevada Mountains. Very much looking forward to shooting in the mountains, .. gonna be fun!
