I woke up this morning to our first snow this winter, 9 1/2 inches. That’s a lot of snow here at the 2000 ft elevation of Nevada County, CA, considering 11 inches is the most we’ve ever had since we built this home in 1991. We’re only 1 to 2 hours drive from all the ski resorts around Lake Tahoe, but at this elevation only 2 to 4 storms a year brings snow. The girls are loving it! No school today, …they’ve been sledding down the driveway all morning. We’ve got a steep upslope driveway with 4 switchbacks which affords lots of sledding.
