Lindsay and Carl’s Wedding

Saturday, May 24th, it was raining. I had an outdoor wedding to shoot for Lindsay and Carl at the gorgeous Empire Mine State Park in Nevada County. At 4:15 when I arrived at the parking lot and began getting my gear together it was still raining. Well, it rained some on us while I was doing their engagement shoot a couple of weeks earlier and they did great, but now I was a little concerned for my bride and groom as this was the real deal. Lots of planning and expense at stake, and visions of a beautiful wedding in question. I arrived at Lindsay’s dressing room and she and her bridesmaids were pretty much ready to go. Everyone was taking it in stride and hoping the rain would subside, with 1 hour and 45 minutes to go. We did a few shots there and half an hour later took off to the mansion’s waiting room. The rain had slacked off some, a canopy covering was placed where the bride and groom would be standing. I had plenty of time to take photos of the bride and bridesmaids in the beautiful natural light coming into the waiting area as well as shots of the grounds and fountains. By the time the ceremony started the rain had stopped. Prayers were answered. It was a beautiful wedding!
