Best of Nevada County

I mentioned in my Friday, March 7 blog that I met Terrilyn Chance, “The Unions” special sections manager, at one of the historical libraries in Grass Valley to shoot a few of the old maps for a project that she was working on. Well, in Friday’s paper was the 8th annual special supplement, The Best of Nevada County. The subscribers vote for their favorite businesses, restaurants, services, etc.. The popular “Best of” gives winners some nice bragging rights, not to mention advertising fodder for the whole year. Anyway, it was great to see what Terrilyn did with the cover and the old maps that I shot for her. She added the miners hat and the gold nuggets from Empire Mine and really made it look nice. Take a look below to see the cover.

Also, on my February 27th blog I wrote about my work on the annual Nevada County Chamber of Commerce directory that was distributed by The Union newspaper. I worked with Terrilyn on that project as well, and she was so nice to include over 40 of my photos, shot in and around Nevada County including a section in the back titled, The Beauty of Nevada County, where some full page photos were placed, and also included a bio of me. I was very happy to get that exposure, to get more visitors and potential clients to view my website www.larryscottphotography.com. Here’s the cover of that supplement. Nine of the twelve photos on the cover were mine.
