Friday Follies

One of the reasons I started a blog was to have place to post a few photos for discussion as my website is not reallly set up for that, … so here goes.
OK, it worked. Good. This is a photo that my 6th grade daughter, Jula, took with my old Olympus 750c. It’s pretty much a 4 megapixel point and shoot, but has a decent macro and a 10x optical zoom. Jula is taking my Photography Fun Club class at Magnolia Intermediate School that I teach every Tuesday during 6th grade lunch, then another during 7th/8th grade lunch. We were driving on Norlene Way in Alta Sierra as the sun was setting and noticed the beautiful reflections in the pond and pulled over for photos. She took this while I was taking photos, and I have to say, she sure did a good job! The tree branches in the background are much sharper on the original than here. Must have reduced the size too much when I placed it here. Oh well, practice makes perfect.
One of the photos that I took there, a closeup of 2 cat tails, was published in “The Union” last week. Here it is.

I have to say the quality of the photo is a little better on my website www.larryscottphotography.com, where I posted it as well. Good night.
